Greenhead College

Greenhead College has performed notably well in this year’s key stage five league tables published by the Department of Education on Thursday 29 January 2015.
It is the top sixth form college for the average number of UCAS points achieved by students at the college during 2013/14, scoring a total of 1034.7 points and is in third place with 27% of students achieving grades AAB in at least two facilitating subjects. The students’ performance per academic A level qualification placed the college in fifth position nationally.

The college is also in the top ten for value added in the country.

Greenhead College strives - "to provide a supportive environment in which individuals feel valued, grow in confidence and fulfil their potential for academic, moral, social and physical development; to continue to be a centre of excellence for a college of its type, providing within its means education and training of the highest quality for each individual student; and to be a major force in enabling its community to reach the nationally set foundation learning targets through the offer of a level 3 curriculum concentrating on A-level provision."

The college is widely acknowledged to be an outstanding provider of education. In May 1999, the Department for Education and Employment officially recognised Greenhead College as a Centre of Excellence and declared it to be a Beacon College.
